Join us on Saturday, November 23rd 7pm at Woodbine for a discussion about the global crisis in liberal democracy, and building a movement against the rightward trajectory towards economic collapse and World War.
The discussion will begin with a presentation from Jamie Merchant about his new book Endgame: Economic Nationalism and Global Decline. He argues the basic causes of a world spinning out of control rest squarely in the decline of a stagnating capitalist economy.
From there, an open conversation will turn to where we’re going, and what a workers’ movement might look like for the current moment. We encourage anyone organizing to come out, share their perspectives, and build towards the next phase of struggle together.
Jamie Merchant is a Chicago-based writer, contributor to Brooklyn Rail, Baffler, and In These Times, and a member of the Chicago chapter of the Independent Labor Club.
